We want to highlight the essential steps every client must take regarding the Macquarie Authenticator app. Starting from 28 November 2024, this app will become the only method for approving new payments initiated by your adviser from your cash, super, and pension accounts for transactions exceeding $30,000. This update replaces the previous system of SMS codes and the print, sign, and upload process for superannuation and certain pension payments.
Why is this important?
The Macquarie Authenticator is a secure, user-friendly mobile app that allows you to verify transactions and account changes quickly and conveniently via push notifications. Here is what you need to do:
- Download the Macquarie Authenticator: Available for free on both Apple iOS and Android devices.
- Register through the app: Have your Macquarie ID, password, and a current mobile number and email address registered with Macquarie. The app will guide you through the registration process.
- Enable notifications: Ensure notifications are turned on in your device settings to receive push notifications.
- Check your registration status: Verify the app is installed by going to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Security Settings’ in your account. It will display ‘installed’ in green next to the Macquarie Authenticator heading.
